Before the Love Bucket: Anthony Hopkins, born 1937, is a Welsh actor of film, stage and television. Knighted in 1993, Sir Philip Anthony Hopkins, he is considered to be one of the greatest living actors. Hopkins is perhaps best known for his portrayal of cannibalistic serial killer Hannibal Lecter in movie The Silence of the Lambs. It was his role as Hannibal Lecter that he received the Academy Award for Best Actor.
Stella was an antiques dealer and Sir Anthony met her one day when he walked into her shop in Pacific Palisades, California. They married in 2003.
Love Bucket at The Training Event: On May 14th, Bill Dorfman and Anthony Hopkins participated in the James Malinchak event in Los Angeles. Sir Anthony was there to represent the LEAP Foundation to gather grants for needy and deserving children to attend leadership learning camps.
Sir Anthony was on stage in a light grey suit, white open collar shirt, and black ankle boots. He sat on stage on the bar stool height chair which showed just above his boots a pair or matching bright red socks.
Sir Anthony spoke of his childhood and that those traces of demeaning experiences affected his self-esteem. Here are a few of Anthony Hopkins “sound bites” :
To be successful requires massive discipline. The progress to get an acting job is brutal and the rejection is tough. Real freedom is to ‘not care’ what other people think. Don’t waste your time trying to make an impression. Show up, say your lines, hit the mark. Never laugh at or smear others; support other people’s efforts and their dreams. Be bold and mighty forces will come to your aid. Your own inadequacies can be your greatest gifts. Believe in the vision you have for your life and you can overcome.
Then, Sir Anthony stood up. The red socks disappeared.

Sir Hopkins motioned to the back of the room where Stella was quietly sitting wearing a beautiful black hat. His gratitude and love for Stella shone through his words, “I want to give a tribute to MY Stella.” Sir Anthony shared that Lady Hopkins was a motivating force in his life. She encouraged him to paint and those painting were shown at their private wedding ceremony in Malibu. She inspired him to paint over 75 paintings and some where given to charities to be used for donations.
Sir Hopkins continued with his tribute to Stella and spoke of how she inspired him to compose music. He said that he has concerts in July in Birmingham and Cardiff where he will present his original classical music. This 73-year old man filled the love bucket of his wife in a public forum recognizing her contribution to his life and how she supports him and his talent.

After the talk, photos were taken, with Anthony Hopkins the main attraction. I took a moment to speak with Stella. I said, “That tribute surely filled your love bucket!” Stella put her hand on her heart and replied, “Wasn’t that beautiful? I was so touched by his words.” It doesn’t matter if you are married to a famous celebrity and always in the public eye. The gift of filling the love bucket, in this case, with the Recognition Ring of Desire works no matter if you are unknown or a big celebrity.
There are three aspects of the Recognition Ring of Desire. Sir Anthony recognized Stella’s actions in how she inspires, contributes, motivates, encourages and helps an already great man become a better version of himself.
It was a gift to witness such a tribute. Anthony Hopkins definitely fills The Love Bucket®!!!
