You’ve heard the saying, “Familiarity breeds contempt.” When you get to know someone you often lose the ability to see the GOOD stuff and focus on what is off or out of place (which seems like a criticism). Relationship connection is a balancing act (like making choices from a menu not everything tastes good together) and rapport does not exist every day. The less you know about someone (and the less time you spend with them) the easier it is to see their good points and dismiss the irritating ones.
