“Women remember everything.”

By Alyssa Milano for Esquire

1. Women are innately self-conscious. This is not a choice; it’s a genderwide condition. On a bad day, I look in the mirror and see my ten-pound-heavier alter ego. Her name is Bertha. On a really bad day, Bertha sees her two-hundred-pound-heavier alter ego. Her name is Brian Dennehy.

2. Women produce half the world’s food but own only 1 percent of its farmland. So we’re fine with you picking up the tab. And after about three thousand dinners at Nobu, we should be even.

3. Women like porn, too. We just hate it when you hide the porn.

4. Women remember everything. Don’t believe me? Ask your girlfriend where you met. She won’t tell you it was at a party. She’ll say it was a Thursday, she had just come from dinner, where she ate a veggie burger, and she was wearing her friend Cathy’s pink top, which was big on her because Cathy is a big girl. You were wearing a blue button-down, drinking a Jack and Coke with two straws, and talking to Bill, that mutual friend. She waved and you gave her the “what’s up” nod. This still infuriates her. (“How could you give me the nod?”)

5. An eyelash curler, while mean and ferocious looking, is not a weapon.

6. No matter how much your woman loves you, there are going to be three to seven days each month when she wants you dead. (She may even quietly fantasize about turning her eyelash curler against you.) You have two options: Tie yourself to a tree and wait out the storm, or stock up at Tiffany’s, toss a blue box or two into the wind, and hope for the best. We recommend the latter. (The key chain doesn’t count.)

7. We think it’s weird when you watch sports and concentrate to help your team.

8. “Hey, Melissa, who’s the boss?” Not a good pickup line. “Hey, Phoebe, where’d you park your broomstick?” Not a good pickup line. “Hey, Alyssa, you look 250 pounds lighter than Brian Dennehy in that dress.” Surprisingly good pickup line.

9. Women hear better than men. That’s before you even factor in listening skills and attention spans. Come to think of it, I should have listed this one first because I’m sure I’ve lost you by now.

10. You may be surprised to know that women were responsible for inventing all of the following: the circular saw, the signal flare, the space suit, the bulletproof vest, and the windshield wiper. You’re welcome.

Alyssa Milano can be seen on Charmed, in its sixth season on the WB.

They’ve got that comfortable place on their shoulder that’s
perfect for snuggling into while we fall asleep.

They’re at peace with their bodies, except for
maybe some minor anxiety over height, weight, and baldness.

They’re enthusiastic about our bodies, even when we’re not.

They fall in love so hard, once they finally fall.

Chest hair, forearm hair and the feel of a newly shaved cheek.

Bravery around snakes, waterbugs, bats and flat tires.

Their unapologetic lust for a nice hunk of beef or chocolate cake.

Their ability to solve problems simply by throwing a ball around.

The glimpse you get, when they wear their
baseball cap backward, of their inner Little Leaguer.

How tender they get when they cry, and how seldom they do it.

What they lack in talk, they tend to make up for in action.

They make excellent companions when driving through
rough neighborhoods or walking past dark alleys.

They really love their moms. They remind us of our dads.

They don’t mind accompanying a woman to a party
even though she looks like a movie star and they look like the chauffeur.

Their near-endless appetite for discussing the ins
and outs of work and money – ours as well as theirs.

Their genuine ardor for tinkering with toilets,
changing oil and assembling gas grills – jobs any
intelligent woman can do but would be nuts to volunteer for.

They never care what their horoscope,
their mother-in-law, nor the neighbors say.

They rarely lie about their age, their weight, or their clothing size.

How awestruck they are in the face
of a Wonderbra or a homemade cookie.

How nice their butts look in jeans.
How nice their hands look holding ours.

Their face is a treasure to behold when
they give us a present they picked out

Their ignorance is usually amusing

They have a great sense of competition

They give great hugs, ( and always melt
our hearts when a sweet “I love you” is added)

Though they often try to hide it,
they’re very tenderhearted and caring

They have an uncanny ability to look deeply into
our eyes and connect with our heart,
even when we don’t want them to

They don’t care whether colors match, but
are willing to be concerned if we want them to be

They give us a peek at the little boy
inside when they get sick or happy or hurt.

WOMEN ARE NUTS!

This is not a revelation. But, why are they nuts? Here is a simple example:

Day 1 – Man wants to fill her love bucket. So he takes steps 1 and 2. The result = she is happy and showers him with love and affection.

Day 2 – Man wants to fill her love bucket. So he takes steps 1 and 2. The result = she is irritated, pissed-off and begins to complain.

What gives? If this was math, the formula would work. That is why men think women are nuts. There appears to be no logic.

The good news is that there may be more of a system to women than meets the eye. When you understand her genetic wiring, it will become clear. Most men are not exposed to the nuances. It is out of context for most men. This information is about to be revealed in the book, 7 Ways to Fill Her Love Bucket.

Women think men are screwed-up because women think men should think like women.

Genetic wiring makes it difficult for men and women to think the same way at first blush.

Without a having a degree in biology, even the average guy or gal knows that men and women have different external physiques. There is also a difference in brain physiology because their brains are wired differently.

Men, compared to women, appeared to be screwed-up because they have distinct disadvantage in their verbal and emotional processing.

It is women who do the majority of talking. Communication for men is not always verbal. Men use a simpler set of tones in language, less words, and they focus on logical problem-solving.

It is women who have amplified feelings of emotion. It is also part of the genetic wiring of women.

Women often think men should be versed in the same intuitive techniques of emotion and verbal communication. This thinking is flawed. Men and women simply process information differently.
